Hi Everyone,
Last year I got a new Dell with Vista installed on it. I've not had any
problems until now. First, the button on the monitor (flat screen) was stuck
and instead of being green colored, was yellow. Next, if you aren't working
on the computer, the computer shuts down...takes about a minute or two. Then
one must turn on the power strip, the computer and take the choice of
starting in safe mode, etc., and I choose the normal mode. I get a lot of
'not responding' to web sites. I did a restore to find out if that
helped....not. I'm running Spyware Doctor and Spy Sweeper. I deleted McAfee
(corrected a lot of small problems) and am now running AVG.
Yes, I'm ready to join the long list of Vista moaners and groaners. Will
someone please guide me in the direction of solving the problems. All help is
appreciated. Thanks, Sunflower.

Specs: windows vista my computer will not boot up. It comes on but when it gets to the windows screen to boot up, it shuts off immediately. At first it booted up, but it wouldnt stay on long and i would shut itself off. Now it wont even stay on long enough to boot up, it shuts down automatically. It will not boot up or anything now, only turn. When turning off your computer it is best to do so from within the Operating System. To shut your computer down in Windows Vista: Click on the Start button. From the Start menu, click the Arrow button located on the lower right corner of the Start menu. Vista Computer Shuts Down Computer

I have a new Acer Aspire computer running on Windows Vista. I've had it set up for a week now, running every day without any problems. Today, I switched on the computer and before Vista loaded, the computer shut down on its own. I tried again and this time got a screen asking if I want to run a start-up diagnostic. I chose that and the computer shut down again. I switched on again and this time Vista loaded and everything was ok. Apart from installing daily important Window Vista updates, I haven't changed anything on the system.
